I am taking a MOOC through Stanford University right now. We have to create a book cover to introduce ourselves to our classmates. It is really hard to come up with a biography and visual representation (other than the typical "headshot"), so I scraped this together with much discomfort. However, I am quite ready to accept discomfort as part of learning, and here it is.

This is my first attempt at an abstract painting.
I love warm colours and this is what attracts me
to this piece. I tried a range of "untraditional"
painting techniques to get the effects I wanted.

I composed this painting for a class I am teaching at the Meta4 Art Gallery in July. I am teaching acrylic and oil painters to paint landscapes in the style of Van Gogh. I hope this measures up!
